This year’s Charity Bash will be held on Tuesday, March 11 from 6:30pm-9pm at the Yost Ice Arena to support Home of New Vision, a local organization that offers transitional housing for women recovering from chemical dependency, and Alternatives for Girls, also a local organization that provides alternative resources to help homeless girls and young women avoid violence, teen pregnancy, and exploitation. We’re hoping to surpass last year’s Charity Bash which raised almost $4,000! Learn more about this year’s charities.
This year’s Charity Bash will include food, some free-skate time, silent and live auctions, and the Faculty vs Med Students Broomball Match! Auctioned items include Business Donations, Faculty Donations, as well as Student Donations! Admission is only $3 (or $5 which includes skate rental).
The bidding system is similar to eBay — just enter the maximum amount that you are willing to bid, and the system will automatically place the lowest possible winning bid. For example, if you enter a max bid of $75, and the second highest bidder puts a max bid of $50, then you win and you pay $51. Still confused? Click here for help! If you are outbid, you will be notified via email (though this system is new and may be flaky–so check back often!).
Silent auctions will close at 8 pm on the day of the event. Live auctions will be available for online bidding until 8 pm. They will then be continued live at 8:30 pm at the venue, and we will place proxy bids for those not present. Click on the links below to view the auctions. Winners will be notified via email and may pay via credit card (PayPal) or live at the event. You need not be present to win (just be willing to enter a huge maximum bid!)
Please NO umich.edu emails when bidding (MCIT spam filter problems)! Confused about our proxy bidding system? Click here.
The auction categories are below.
NOTE: Internet Explorer may not work. ALSO, please avoid using umich.edu email addresses if you have an alternative option (i.e. gmail). In the past, MCIT spam filters blocked emails and you may not get emailed when you win or are outbid. This is not a problem currently, but may occur once site volume increases!
